As promised, We’ve booked a night at the Market theatre in Hitchin, www.markettheatre.co.uk – for the team, an Adult Panto. Shall we be adults, I doubt it, but I know we will all enjoy it, especially if we start with a few bottles of fizz. Once in Hitchin, it will be difficult not to carry on with the party, so we shall just have to make a late start on our first day back at work.

George and Mel are coming back to work tomorrow to pluck loads of Pheasants and Partridges as we seem to have a backlog of them. Our local shoot is having a great season, one of the best ever.

Tradionally on Boxing Day, we have a walk around the shoot as a prelude to going to the pub, or is it an excuse for not helping with the clearing up, I wonder. Whatever the reason, about 25 of us with assorted dogs, caroused about the countryside, and later settled in the Bull at Gosmore for a well earned pint or two and lunch.

I was in the garden just before Christmas Day, planting Willow chairs – more about THAT later, and I looked back at Redcoats, and thought how good it looked with smoke curling from its various chimneys. Somehow an open fire makes everything more friendly don’t you think.

Have you seen our new Christmas tree at the farm entrance to the Hotel, I love it! Nick and are just about to go and buy a few more lights, and it will be finished. I know, I know we are a little late, still its up now, and next year I promise, we will be on time.
We asked you to comment on the new web site, and comment you did- Thank you, and thanks to Jason at Push Marketing who has done most of the work.
I was going to talk about our team and linking them to a well oiled machine, then thought better wbout it. I know they do probably like a drink or two, but they are working so hard that sleep is the priority. Memo to management, must book a staff party very early in the New Year.

New website, new blog!

SO what does one write in a blog I wonder? I have just come back from the funeral of a mate of mine, do you want to hear about that? probably not, although it did have its amusing side, and the wake is still probably going strong.

I was puzzled the other day by a couple who brought in one of our vouchers for dinner. They had never been to Redcoats before and neither had the gift givers (who lived in Wales). Well I had to find out more, didn’t I!! It turned out that my diners had been walking in the Welsh mountains when the weather turned for the worst. As they made their way back they found this couple who were a little lost, and uprepared for the bad weather. on the walk back home they must have told them where they were staying, and voila, our voucher came through their letter box in Stotfold. The power of the internet.
