On Tuesday 15th March, Anglian Country Inns, the family owned business celebrating its 20th year and with 6 diverse hospitality establishments under its belt, was shortlisted in the 'BEST FOOD OFFER' category at The Publican Awards 2016. ACI have been finalists in this category for the last four years, winning outright in two of the four years! There were four finalists countrywide in this category and the awards are the biggest event on the pub industry calendar in the UK with The Publican celebrating their 25th year of excellence.
The Publican awards celebrate the achievements of leading pub companies across a range of categories that reflect the products and services on offer across the British Pub Estate. The BEST FOOD OFFER accolade is awarded to a company delivering a successful food offer across their estate, with food a key part of the company's total sales. Each finalist took part in an extensive three-stage process and was judged by a panel of the industry's top names.
Ed Beddington, The Publican's Morning Advertiser Editor said,'Anglian Country Inns are one of the finest food-led pub operators out there, with an unwavering dedication to fresh produce, skilled cookery and internal training and development for chefs. Most importantly though, they create great pubs and experiences for their customers. Their shortlisting in the Publican Awards 2016was hard-earned and well-deserved.'
Said James Nye, managing director Anglian Country Inns, 'It is amazing to have been short listed again for the BEST FOOD OFFER. The whole team across the ACI estate put their hearts into the business and this is recognition of their incredible hard work. It was a seriously tough category this year and we were up against the best in the country. It is such an honour to have been named a finalist in the industry's most sought after awards. Thanks must to not only The Morning Advertiser their judges and sponsors but most importantly to the ACI dedicated team of staff.'
More than 1,400 people attended a glittering awards ceremony hosted by Michael McIntyre, comedian and TV star and was held at Battersea Evolution on London's Park Lane.
